The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) movement, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has once again reiterated the legitimacy of his rights to seek for an independent state of Biafra, citing the African union Charters as the fundamental basis which guarantees and legitimizes his stance on this.
This was contained in a press statement issued by his legal representative, Barr Aloy Ejimakor after the latest routine visit with his client at the Nigerian secret police (DSS) headquarters seated in Abuja, Nigeria.
Mazi Nnamd Kanu the IPOB leader was quoted to have recounted his ordeal, and how he was unlawfully brought from Kenya to stand trial in Nigeria by the federal government and urged the general public to take cognizance of these factors.
..."That he was unlawfully renditioned, detained and being prosecuted for simply seeking for the fundamental right to Self Determination as guaranteed under Article 20 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights which was enacted by the National Assembly in 1983, providing that: “All peoples shall have the unquestionable right to self determination.
