Once you know this, it will help you stay focus in the struggle for the restoration of Biafra.
The freedom of a country depends on its citizens. Individuals who selflessly sacrifice their lives so that their country and countrymen can be free are identified as freedom fighters. Every country has a few brave hearts who willingly give up their lives for their countrymen.
A Freedom fighter is someone who fights for legal rights in conformity with the law of armed conflict; while a terrorist is someone who fights to achieve illegal advantages by means of targeting civilian objects.
It’s difficult to find Freedom fighters that their activities won’t resort to violence and they justify their actions in terms of ideological arguments. But terrorists differ because they’re always targeting innocent victims which is a violation of human rights and a form of oppression in which freedom fighters would not engage.
For record purpose the patrons and promoters of terrorism all are states with repressive regimes in which freedom has no place , like in Nigerian , where the government is repressive against those fighting for self determination(eg. IPOB)
Terrorism and counter-terrorism are human rights issues. Terrorism is a human rights issue because it involves deliberate attacks on civilians causing death and serious injury as it engages the right to life and the right to physical integrity.
For an act of violence to qualify as terrorism, the perpetrators must be deliberately targeting civilians or simply be reckless as to whether civilians as well as military targets might be harmed.
Freedom fighters are people who fought to free their country from an oppressor. They often face hardships in the process of securing the freedom of their country and people.
Freedom fighters and terrorists often do have many similarities. Both groups take part in a violent struggle to achieve a political goal, usually the overthrow or removal of an established government.
